Danielle Wallek, DVM grew up in East Texas and moved to Corpus Christi in November 2013 where she joined the Animal Medical and Surgical Hospital team. Dr. Wallek purchased the clinic in May of 2014. She attended Texas A&M University and earned a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science in 2006. In 2010, she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University. Dr. Wallek and her husband, Dustin, live in Corpus Christi with their dog, Copper, a German Shorthair Pointer.
Dustin Wallek, VGM, is a native of South Texas and moved back to the area after graduating from Air Force Pilot Training. He and his wife took over ownership of Animal Medical Corpus Christi in May 2014. You may see him working on projects at the clinic. When he isn't at the clinic, Dustin is a commercial airline pilot and an officer in the Air National Guard.
Dr. Curran grew up in Corpus Christi and has spent most of her life here. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University – Kingsville. In 2016, she graduated from Texas A&M University – College Station with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and joined the Animal Medical team shortly thereafter. As a recent graduate, Dr. Curran has contributed new views on medicine and animal health. She spends most of her free time expanding her clinical knowledge and enjoys time with her family and lovable Terrier, Eddie.
Deborah Shores, DVM is a Georgia native and 2008 graduate of Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She recently moved to Corpus Christi from Japan and is excited to be living in Texas. Her professional interests include feline medicine, ultrasonography and she is currently enrolled in a course to become a certified veterinary acupuncturist. When she’s not at the office, she enjoys swimming, cooking and playing with her Australian Shepherd, Diego.
Julie is originally from Corpus Christi and has over 16 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician. She worked at Animal Medical and Surgical Hospital for eight years before it became Animal Medical Corpus Christi and is valued by many of our regular clients. Julie attended Del Mar College and Murray State College and has learned much of what she knows from hands on experience. She loves the color purple and shares her home with two dogs, Loretta and Lefty, two cats, Rabbit and Foster, and a turtle named Fred.
Shelley is originally from South Georgia. She attended Texas Baptist College where she earned a minor in Child Psychology. Shelley joined the Animal Medical team as a receptionist in 2014. She and her husband, Matt, have two beautiful daughters, Sadie and Madelyn. They also share their home with three cats and a Yorkie named Moseley.
Kristina was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, Weslaco to be exact. She comes from a family of animal lovers and grew up with dogs, rabbits and reptiles. Kristina attended Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science with a minor in History in 2017. She started off as a volunteer and joined the Animal Medical team as a Veterinary Technician in 2015. Kristina aspires to become a Veterinarian and is interested in small animal medicine. Pictured with her is her cat, Hoochie, who she adopted from the clinic. Kristina and her family share their home with two Doberman Pinschers, Nani and Bear, a Rottweiler named Daisy, a Beagle named Ranger, a Chihuahua named Moo Moo and a three-legged cat named Igor. Her hobbies include watching movies and attending local festivals.
Betsy was born and raised in Corpus Christi. She joined the Animal Medical team as an intern while working toward her Veterinary Assistant certification. After completing the program, Betsy began working as a Veterinary Technician. She shares her home with nine African Geese and enjoys working on the farm with her father. Betsy enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Dylan, and loves to draw, paint and swim. If you need a good laugh or something to smile about, you can always count on Betsy and her fun-loving personality.
Andrew was born and raised in Corpus Christi. He is currently working toward earning an associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology and is a certified wildlife rehabilitator through the International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council. Additionally, Andrew holds a Texas Parks and Wildlife state license and has completed veterinary basic and advanced CPR courses through Cornell University. He shares his home with two dogs, Maggie and Louisa, two cats, Charlie and Toby, a rabbit, an iguana and tons of fish. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys wildlife and nature photography.
Originally from San Diego, California, Rachelle relocated to Texas with her husband while he attends flight school at NAS Corpus Christi. Rachelle attended Chapman University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and Public Relations in 2014. Since then, she has volunteered, interned and worked with animals in both shelters and veterinary hospitals alike. She joined our team as a Veterinary Technician in 2017. Her hobbies include camping, hiking, going to the beach and spending time with her German Shepherd, Lincoln, and newly adopted kitten, Holly.
Sheridan is originally from Victoria and moved to Corpus Christi after Hurricane Harvey. She joined the Animal Medical team as a Kennel Technician in 2017. Previously, she has worked at an animal shelter and as a pet sitter. Sheridan shares her home with her husband and two dogs, Danny and June.
Terri was born and raised in Pennsylvania before moving to Corpus Christi four years ago. She has been in the medical field for over five years and joined the Animal Medical team as Practice Manager in 2017. Terri enjoys spending her free time riding motorcycles with her husband and walking on the beach with her dog, Xena.
